Frequently Asked Questions...
Do you shoot destination weddings?
Yes! I would love to discuss your destination wedding plans! For destination weddings I am happy to give a discount in exchange for travel expenses. Contact me to learn more!
Will there be a second shooter?
If detailed in your package. A second shooter is included in the "Classic" and "Heirloom" wedding collections.
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with a full frame Canon DSLR and I carry various high end lenses (50mm, 100mm micro, 24-70mm, 70-200mm). I also use a Canon flashes if needed. Second shooters are required to use similar high quality gear.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
If it fits into the photographers schedule, yes, you can add on additional hours day of event for an additional cost. Keep in mind this depends on if prior commitments have not already been made by photographer(s). Please contact me for further details.
Why have an engagement session?
Engagement sessions do actually serve a purpose, other than getting some romantic photos of you and your fiancé. This session actually more of a rehearsal and aids in helping us prepare for the big day. It allows us to get comfortable working with each other, and also helps the two of you to become comfortable with posing, as we will be using many of the same kind of poses on your wedding day. What this means is that you will be much more comfortable, natural and relaxed posing in front of the camera and interacting together when its time for wedding day portraits.
Why have a second photographer?
Having a second photographer for your event is very beneficial for a couple reasons. First, if God forbid something were to go wrong with equipment, not all images are lost because were using more than one camera/memory card! Yay for insurance! The second, more than one perspective...when you only have one photographer for your wedding, you will only get to capture one persons reaction....only one reaction during a first look, only one reaction when walking down the aisle. Thirdly, it helps greatly with time management! Wedding days, no matter how organized you try to be, are chaotic (at least for the people making the magic happen). With two photographers, we can divide and conquer, leaving no detail undocumented! We have the ability to be two places at once, and this is a great thing to be able to accomplish on your wedding day.
Do I have to order prints through you?
No, you are not required to order prints through me. All my packages, weddings and portraits alike, all include a personal print release, so you can go anywhere of your choosing for your print needs. Keep in mind that mass commercial printers are not the best quality and vary greatly the products they produce. For this reason, I do offer high end, heirloom quality print products for optional purchase at affordable prices.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, I have an up to date business license with the state of Washington as an LLC. I also have liability insurance and all my gear is insured.
