Jordan + Brett | HOPPILY EVER AFTER
Jordan and Brett met in August 2014 on a blind date and had an instant connection. Jordan loves teasing Brett, saying that she fell in love with his dog before she fell in love with him! When they met, Brett had a one-year old Doodleman (half Poodle and half Doberman, for those of you who don’t know what a Doodleman is...full disclosure, I didn’t) named Jax; whom Jordan said was just the sweetest pup! Since then they have gotten another dog, Ope, the Saintberdoodle (half Saint Bernard and half Poodle…who knew?!). Other than dogs, Jordan and Brett have a mutual love for craft beer…but who doesn’t, right? Well, except maybe me…I’m a wine-o myself! When they first started dating they spent a lot of time hoping from brewery to brewery, so it only made sense that the theme of their wedding was centered around, you guessed it…BEER (more on this later…)!
They both are native Washingtonians, but have relocated to Arizona. Since moving south, Brett has become quite passionate about hunting. When Brett proposed to Jordan, he caught her completely by surprise. Jordan recalls it was a Friday night in December, she had just got off work early, however, Brett said he was going hunting and would be back late. When he got home that night, earlier than expected, he cracked open the door and yelled for Jordan to come and check out what he got! Jordan being very excited for him, ran out to see what he "got". When she opened the door, Brett was dressed in all camo and down on one knee with a ring in hand and asked Jordan to be his forever…he killed it (pun intended)!
On a hot, sunny day in August, almost exactly 4 years since they met on their blind date, Jordan and Brett were married at The Farm at Swan's Trail in picturesque Snohomish. As mentioned before, they are avid craft beer lovers, thus their brewery themed wedding. The floral decor throughout the wedding boasted hops in the arrangements; from the reception tables adorned with wooden round centerpieces topped with beer bottle vases tied together with twine and filled with hops and greenery, to the bouquets and boutonnieres. Every detail of this wedding had personalized elements, including the engraved "Forever Yours" ring box, groom's monogrammed cuff links & tie clip, the bride's veil was made with lace from her mother’s wedding gown and even a beer unity ceremony with custom glassware from Etsy. One of my favorite little details was their creative wedding hashtag…#HoppilyEverDodeward. The food at their reception was catered by a mexican food truck, Taqueria Los Chilangos! Totally unique, budget friendly and absolutely fresh & delicious! There were lawn games such as WSU corn hole, giant Jenga and the dancing was epic entertainment! At that moment I genuinely wished I was a videographer to capture the full essence of the comical performances! They wanted their wedding day to reflect who they are as a couple and it came together beautifully! I left their wedding feeling like I was one of their long-time friends.
Jordan and Brett, thank you for trusting me to capture your special day! I am so honored to have witnessed such love and happiness!
